Job description

Position Summary

The Applications Engineer is responsible for driving sales growth within a defined geographic territory by combining technical expertise with strong relationship‑building skills. This role partners closely with customers, distributors, and internal teams to understand technical needs, recommend solutions, and provide product support that ensures customer satisfaction and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned region.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets through consultative selling and product demonstrations.
  • Manage existing accounts, ensuring retention and identifying upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
  • Develop territory sales plans and maintain an accurate sales pipeline.
Technical Expertise & Support
  • Understand customer technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Provide pre‑sales technical support, including product presentations, demos, and application assistance.
  • Partner with engineering, R&D, and product management to address technical challenges or customization needs.
  • Deliver post‑sales support when needed, ensuring smooth implementation and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field preferred) or equivalent technical experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in technical sales, field engineering, or applications engineering.
  • Strong understanding of automation, robotics and "like" industries.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned region (typically 30–60%).
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
