Job Summary:
Herc Rentals is one of the leading equipment rental suppliers in North America, and they are seeking an IT Telematics Manager to lead the management of their digital telematics technologies. The role involves developing telematics strategies, mentoring team members, and collaborating with business stakeholders to innovate and enhance telematics offerings.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage telematics digital strategy
• Lead, mentor and coach junior team members in the digital team
• Lead QA efforts of mobile and desktop applications integrated with telematics
• Work closely with business stakeholders to develop roadmaps and telematics strategy
• Help the digital team innovate telematics offerings to stay ahead in the marketplace
• Create and review requirements and specification documents of telematics systems and related digital platforms
• Maintain telematics digital solutions in accordance with SLAs and defined KPIs
• Be the liaison between IT and internal business stakeholders to help capture, support and translate their needs.
• Facilitate product ownership, prioritizing enhancements, and providing input to development teams in continuous innovation cycles
• Act as a subject matter expert and source of knowledge who contributes their expertise to enhance customer experience, evaluate needs, and determine suitable existing technical solutions to ensure that customers requirements are met.
• Execute a growth plan to maximize opportunities for Herc Rentals telematics digital services.
• Support new product offerings and digital transformation initiatives.
• Provide analysis and metrics as necessary to enhance performance and improve current and future product features and offerings.
• Represent the Herc brand in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 4 to 8 years of experience in technology solutions related to construction equipment, fleet, telematics, or logistics preferred
• Strong IoT background and or Telematics/Fleet Management as applied in the construction equipment or related industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a polished and professional presence
• Strong project management skills
• Understanding of basic telecommunications
• Understanding of telematics OEM technologies including API management and ability to execute firmware upgrades
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Meet critical deadlines for high visibility projects and work constructively while under pressure
• Be an organized and self-motivated/independent worker with keen attention to detail and follow through
• Able to work with standard software business tools like MS Office (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word)
Preferred:
• General AWS/cloud architecture knowledge helpful
• Understanding of mobile apps and technology helpful
