The Enterprise Applications Engineering team is the central software innovation partner for all of Zoox. In this role, you’ll lead and grow a team of Application Engineers responsible for designing and delivering scalable, high-quality enterprise applications. You’ll combine strong technical judgment with people leadership to elevate engineering practices, drive modern development methodologies, and help shape how enterprise software is built across the company.
In this role you will:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of application engineers, fostering strong engineering culture and best practices
  • Guide teams to solve complex problems by identifying root causes and designing elegant, reusable solutions
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, reliable enterprise applications
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including agile methodologies, CI/CD, and automated testing
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver features aligned with Zoox’s strategic and operational goals
Qualifications
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of people management experience, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management
  • Strong technical background in software engineering with hands-on experience in Python, Java, or C++
  • Proven experience leading software teams and evolving development practices at scale
  • Experience building and operating distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native applications
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other complex hardware-software domains
  • Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and applying it in large systems
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Formal experience or certification as an Agile Coach or Scrum Master
  • Track record of leading organizational or team-level engineering transformations
Base Salary Range
 
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
