Connected Logistics is seeking to hire an Applications Programmer – Senior to support a DLA client's full software development lifecycle; to provide in-depth knowledge of requirements development, system design, system performance, software programming; and to design and manage the database and deployment of software.


The Applications Programmer – Senior serves as Sustainment Lead or Sustainment Subject Matter Expert (SME). Provides

expert-level knowledge of sustainment life cycle management activities for programs and project

operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzes functional business applications and design specifications for functional areas such as finance, accounting, personnel, manpower, logistics, and contracts. Develops block diagrams and logic flowcharts.
  • Translates detailed design into computer software. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and refines the computer software to produce the required product.
  • Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
  • Enhances software to reduce operating time and improve efficiency.
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.


Software Development & Architecture

  • Design and develop complex software solutions using best practices and modern technologies.
  • Ensure code quality through design reviews, code reviews, and adherence to development standards.
  • Lead architectural discussions and contribute to implementing and deploying technology strategies.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level and junior developers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the development team.
  • Lead by example in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Agile Team Collaboration

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, QA engineers, and Computer Systems Analysts to deliver value-driven features.
  • Drive technical discussions and decision-making within the team.

Performance & Optimization

  • Identify bottlenecks and optimize application performance.
  • Implement and advocate for secure coding practices.
  • Ensure maintainability and scalability of software solutions


Requirements:


  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Expert experience and knowledge of sustainment lifecycle management activities for programs and project operations.
  • Proven experience incorporating AI-enabled tools and workflows by integrating AI into analyzing and problem solving.
  • Experience in leading software development teams or projects.
  • Experience with application programming interfaces (APIs) to support Low-Code/No Code Development Platform models.
  • Experience using low-code/no-code business process modeling notation (BPMN) tools.
  • Experience developing application/process automation software based on BPMN models.
  • Experience as an application programmer on large-scale DBMS, knowledge of computer equipment, and ability to develop complex software to satisfy design objectives
  • Experience in agile and hybrid low-code application development.
  • Position Sensitivity: Non-Critical Sensitive (Formerly IT-II or IT-2).
  • Investigation Requirements: Must possess a favorable Tier 3 (T3) Secret Clearance.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience supporting the DLA Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) or the DLA Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS).
