Qnity Electronics has an exciting opening for Applications Engineering Team Leader in the Advanced Cleans and Slurries Technology (ACST) business. This managerial position is focused on leading a group of App. Engineers to advance new slurry product development used in the Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) process of semiconductor fabrication. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to helping our business grow customer market share in advanced nodes in the semiconductor industry with career growth opportunities within an industry leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION

Your key responsibilities will be/what you'll do:

  • Team Leadership & Technical SME: Initiate, plan, execute, and lead advanced R&D and application development projects. Manage and train a team of applications engineers. Oversee career development, establish performance metrics, and assign technical resources for customer engagements. Develop technical expertise in CMP technology and related Qnity Slurry products.
  • Customer Technical Support: Act as the primary technical liaison between Qnity and key US-based semiconductor clients. Present CMP slurry solutions, assist in "design wins". Engage in face-to-face customer interactions to support customers in their product/application development efforts. Lead customer engagements and drive technical wins by transferring product expertise to the customer and/or local technical support teams.
  • Process Optimization: Guide the team in designing experiments (DOEs) to support the development, scale-up, and commercialization of new slurry and post-CMP cleaning products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with internal R&D, sales/account management, and global product teams to align product strengths with customer needs. Translate innovation opportunities and market needs into development activities.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshooting internal and external problems, including optimizing internal processes and working with customer engineers to optimize/customize processes to their specific requirements.
  • Some travel expected (up to 15% of time).
  • Participate in safety activities, and meet all safety requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • Minimum B.S. in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science/eng, or related field with 10+ years of related experiences. M.S. or Ph.D. with 5+ years of related experiences preferred
  • Understanding of semiconductor fabrication and fab metrology & procedures.
  • CMP process knowledge and experience is highly desirable, particularly at least one of past experience on development of CMP pad, CMP slurry, or post-CMP cleaning process.
  • Expertise in Design of Experimentation (DOE), statistical data analysis, and technical reporting.
  • Demonstrated highly effective communication skills.
