Job description

Pay: $29-$42 per hour (Actual pay will be based on experience, skills and internal equity)

Location: Springfield, MO

The Role

The Application Engineer 2 is a senior individual contributor responsible for supporting complex customer applications and projects involving pumps, process equipment, and hygienic systems.This is an inside, office-based role that is highly customer-facing and deeply involved in quotes, orders, and ERP-based workflows. It does not perform field installation or service work.

Application Engineer 2 team members work directly with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to interpret process requirements, size and specify equipment, and ensure technically accurate solutions are quoted and ordered correctly.

What Youll Do

Customer & Application Support

  • Serve as a technical application resource for customers via phone and email
  • Interpret customer process requirements, P&IDs, and specifications
  • Size, select, and support pumps and related hygienic process equipment
  • Apply engineering judgment to recommend practical, accurate solutions
  • Clearly explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Identify application risks, assumptions, and gaps and communicate proactively

Quotes, Orders & ERP Accountability

  • Prepare, review, and support complex quotes involving pumps and process systems
  • Build and review bills of material (BOMs) for engineered assemblies
  • Enter, verify, or correct technical data within ERP systems
  • Ensure assumptions and non-standard conditions are documented and communicated
  • Partner closely with inside sales to resolve application-related issues

Project & Team Contribution

  • Support larger or more complex customer projects
  • Serve as a technical resource for less experienced engineers or specialists
  • Contribute to process improvements, standards, or training materials

Experience

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience application engineering, process engineering, or a similar technical role. Strong candidates will have pump and process application experience, customer-facing application responsibility, and experience working in ERP, quote, BOM, and order-accuracy workflows.
  • Equivalent experience to progression from Application Engineer 1 may be considered.
  • Experience in the hygienic/sanitary process equipment industry, preferred.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements
