Position: Server Administrator

Location: Detroit, MI

Description

SRI Tech, a fast growing IT staffing and solutions firm, is seeking a Service Administrator for our client in Detroit, MI.

Required:

Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Desktop, and Active Directory Administration

Strong knowledge of VMware ESX, vCenter, and View environments

Experience scripting using PowerShell, VB, Perl, Ruby or Python

Experience with EMC Avamar

Experience documenting complex environments

Experience with project management, vendor management, and policy development

Design, integrate, test and maintain a wide variety of system and network technologies

Maintain production systems with updates

Configure and manage hardware and VM based Windows Server installations

Monitor and troubleshoot all aspects of server infrastructure

Capacity management and performance tuning

Ensure system security and data integrity

Provide 24 x 7 support for systems, applications and tools as required

Use high-level communication skills to collaborate, influence and persuade team members and management inside and outside of the department.

Provide on call Level 1 & 2 support for all operational issues and outages relating to the infrastructure.

Subject matter expert in the following technologies: Windows, VMWare, SCCM.

Strong breadth of knowledge across technology disciplines.

Ability to convert complex information into simple, explainable solutions.

Understanding of current and future business needs met by infrastructure platforms.

Results-driven with a bias towards practical applications.

Possesses a planning orientation with integrative and strategic thinking skills.

Ability to drive and achieve consensus/support from large diverse groups.

Maintain familiarity with currently implemented and new technology, including new versions of software/firmware, implementation of upgrades, and changes to procedures/commands.

Provide clear communication and documentation of events, processes, procedures and configuration details

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Communicates and monitors compliance with existing practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree with computer classes or equivalent experience.

4+ years of server administration experience.

Windows Server 2012 and VMWare

Windows scripting languages

PKI, certificates, SSL

o Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS

Windows firewall, IPSec

Strong ability to work with various levels of colleagues and public, from top management to new hires.

o Evidence of ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Additional Information

Note - The candidate must have expertise in UI design and implementation, middle-tier and web application development, and integration testing using .NET 4.5, ASP.NET MVC and JavaScript.

Design and write fast, reusable, testable UI components
Excellent quality ASP.NET MVC, and JavaScript (specifically AngularJS) coding, testing and the ability to make common sense design decisions without a lot of oversight
Identifying integration issues and resolving them
Ability to dive into existing complex codebases
Excellent troubleshooting skills
