Job Description:
The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate research and programmatic activities within Dr. Wei's research group, ensuring the effective execution of projects funded by federal agencies (non-defense-related) and state sponsors. This position plays a key role in advancing the group's research portfolio by managing ongoing programs, supporting proposal development, and facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration across LSU.
25% Manage day-to-day operations of NSF- and state-funded research projects to ensure timely execution, compliance, and reporting.

19% Lead and coordinate the development and submission of competitive research proposals to federal agencies and other sponsors.
16% Facilitate the creation of new research initiatives aligned with emerging funding opportunities. Organize strategic meetings, workshops, and planning activities to support research growth and program expansion.
10% Identify and cultivate collaboration opportunities with faculty, industry, and academic units across LSU.
5% Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Three (3) years of demonstrated project management experience, preferably in federally funded research environments
Preferred qualifications
PhD. Five (5) years of demonstrated project management experience, preferably in federally funded research environments. Strong experience with proposal development and federal agency submission processes. Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and work collaboratively across academic and administrative units.
