Job Summary:
Supermicro is seeking a Product Manager who can lead the development and integration of server/workstation system products for cloud and data center infrastructure. This is a key product management role focused on server/storage product solutions where communication among remote teams and on-site product leadership for our development teams is critical to develop and enable operations to fulfill roadmap expectation. In addition to developing new top-of-the-line systems, product manager is expected to collaborate with marketing and sales departments to promote products and interact with customers directly to sell these products. As a product manager, you will use strong technical and communication skills towards product definition strategy for Supermicro's core product family including research into vertical-based customer solutions and creation of aggressive go-to market plan. Ultimately, Product Manager will become a core member of the Server Product Management team and engage in technical, product development, marketing, and pre/post-sales support activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Support the Director of Solution Engineering in winning data center projects and driving revenue growth
• Lead data center solutions development, working closely with design and testing engineers to deliver new solutions
• Manage data center and rack system projects from design to delivery, ensuring on-time delivery, defining escalation paths, and achieving high customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with Business Development Managers, Sales, Field Application Engineers, Operations, and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver products/services
• Work closely with customers in pre-sales engagement, providing creative solutions that meet demanding requirements
• Conduct marketing and technological research to support decision-making on solution development directions
• Improve revenue by collaborating with channel partners, technology partners, sales, and marketing teams to expand ecosystems and effectively promote new solutions
• Design rack systems including servers, switches, power distribution units, and network cabling
• Make feature improvements to existing application systems and efficiency enhancements to processes to eliminate redundancy and increase effectiveness
• Provide solution trainings to internal teams, partners, resellers, and end customers
Qualifications:
• BSEE/CS, MSEE/CS or BS/MS in mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience preferred
• 5+ years of professional experience in chassis, computer systems, rack systems, server-related products, or project/product management is a plus
• Deep knowledge in data center infrastructures (Cloud, HPC, AI/ML), power and cooling technologies
• Familiarity with server, storage, switch, GPU, HPC solutions, Linux, networking, and virtualization technologies is a plus
• Solid experience managing large-scale data center projects from design to deployment
• Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to lead cross-functional and extended teams to complete complex projects from development through completion while meeting deadlines
• Strong capability to bridge engineering and business groups, translating technical solutions into business value
• Strong initiative and ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment
• Strong understanding of Server/PC market trends and customer needs
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within diverse, cross-functional teams
• Some domestic and international travel to meet with customers is required
Salary Range
$130,000 - $150,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
