Location : Rockville, MD - Onsite
Duration : 6 to 12 Months
Overview:
Client is seeking an experienced Application Modernization Architect to be a part of our innovative team. This role is integral to the development and execution of application modernization using Cloud native and advanced AI/ML solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the lead expert on the system design process for application modernization projects.
  • Provide direction, guidance, definition, evaluation, and facilitation for the development of current and future architecture.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement comprehensive and scalable architectural designs that align with business objectives.
  • Architect and implement solutions that leverage modern technologies and frameworks.
  • Provide technical leadership in migrating legacy applications to contemporary architectures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system designs meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and advice team on implementable solutions.
  • Provide advice and guidance to team leads regarding technical and design decisions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of proven experience as an Application Modernization Architect.
  • Experience/Knowledge (5+ years) of implementing solutions for the health industry and familiarity with standards and best practices.
  • Experience/Knowledge of federal government industry is a plus.
  • Leadership and agile project management experience using Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence tools.
  • Expertise in system design, architecture, and modern application development processes.
  • Experience migrating and modernizing legacy applications to cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience and deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, applications, and trends.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud infrastructure, software application, and design.
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or other major cloud computing services.
  • Strong cloud migration and data management skills with an emphasis on data privacy and security.
  • Experience with AI/ML/LLM tools and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Certifications:
  • Required - AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional,
  • Nice to have - AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Technical Architect Certifications
  • Excellent teamwork capabilities including working with diverse team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Refined presentation and communication skills and the ability to interface and communicate effectively with both engineers and executives.
