Service Technician (Machine Tools)

Position Summary
Lean Synergy Solutions is seeking a skilled and hands-on Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced CNC machine tools and related systems. This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and servo-driven system issues while ensuring optimal machine performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in CNC machinery, the ability to interpret complex schematics and blueprints, and experience supporting high-precision manufacturing environments. This position requires both domestic and occasional international travel to customer locations for installations, repairs, acceptance testing, and customer training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid power schematics.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and fluid servo-activated systems.
  • Perform machine leveling, alignment, and precision geometric calibration of CNC equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical assemblies including spindle units, gearboxes, axes systems, and additional machine components.
  • Perform closed-loop and open-loop axis control diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Conduct CNC geometry compensation and positioning axis calibration.
  • Utilize laser measurement systems for positioning, straightness, and geometric alignment verification.
  • Support 5-axis Traori setup and machine configuration.
  • Troubleshoot and configure automatic tool changers and tool management systems.
  • Conduct machine acceptance testing alongside customers to validate operational performance.
  • Provide preventative maintenance and operational training to customer personnel.
  • Mentor and train junior service engineers and technicians in field service best practices.
  • Communicate customer feedback, equipment performance trends, and improvement recommendations to management.
  • Maintain professional customer relationships while delivering responsive technical support in demanding environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the machine tool or CNC service industry.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and servo control principles.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot CNC machine tools and related systems.
  • Experience reading engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, precision measurement tools, and service software applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface directly with customers.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including remote customer locations.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours as required to support customer and project demands.
  • Ability to perform independently in fast-paced field service environments while maintaining a high level of professionalism and technical accuracy.
