Job description

Summary

Responsible for the design, configuration, integration, administration, and lifecycle management of key credit union applications, including core banking platforms, digital banking platforms, loan origination systems, payment processing, treasury management, document imaging and workflow automation.  In partnership with business units, analyze, design, and develop system enhancements to improve the user experience. This role ensures these systems are secure, compliant, and optimized for member services and internal operations. Shows a commitment to continuous learning, and a willingness to understand non-technical business processes.  Effectively collaborates and communicates technical concepts and decisions in a way that can be understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely updates and support including escalations. Lead root cause analysis sessions to identify underlying issues and develop effective solutions for complex problems. Ensure solutions align with architecture and engineering best practices.

  • Operational efficiencies are created by automating routine tasks, reducing technology friction, and improving reliability.
  • Team development and knowledge retention are improved through the creation, ongoing maintenance, and sharing of application documentation.
  • Technical foundation for enterprise applications is improved through modernization efforts, including vendor application migrations, upgrades, and integrations.

Capability Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in application engineering, application development, or a similar role; or combination of applicable work experience and education.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to resolve complex application issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Solid understanding of system development life cycle and DevOps practices.
  • Demonstrated application of IT engineering best practices and application architectures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise applications, vendor administration, database systems, and API integration technologies.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the following:
    • Scripting and development languages
    • Application security best practices and secure coding standards
    • Database administration
    • Server operating systems
    • Automation and scheduling tools
    • Data analysis and reporting tools
