Job description

We're looking for a Sr. Application Portfolio Management/Project Manager to lead the enterprise-wide Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Manufacturing Transformation initiatives for one of our strategic clients. This role will focus on optimizing application portfolios while supporting manufacturing expansion, new plant initiatives, and enterprise transformation programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading enterprise application rationalization efforts, combined with large-scale manufacturing program delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead enterprise Application Portfolio Management (APM) initiatives.
  • Assess, rationalize, optimize, and modernize enterprise application portfolios with the main focus on Manufacturing applications.
  • Create a 6R rationalization approach for manufacturing-related applications.
  • Identify redundant applications and develop consolidation strategies.
  • Manage enterprise-wide application lifecycle planning.
  • Lead multiple concurrent technology transformation projects.
  • Support manufacturing expansion initiatives, including new plant launches.
  • Coordinate IT, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and Business stakeholders.
  • Develop integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
  • Monitor project risks, dependencies, budgets, and timelines.
  • Report project status and key milestones to executive leadership.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party implementation partners.
  • Ensure successful delivery using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project methodologies.
  • Support organizational change management and business readiness activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of Project or Program Management experience leading enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Extensive experience managing Application Portfolio Management (APM) programs.
  • Experience with application optimization, rationalization, consolidation, and modernization.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of project governance, budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Experience working with executive leadership and cross-functional business teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting manufacturing expansion or new plant implementations.
  • Familiarity with ERP, MES, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing systems.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Agile or SAFe certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience leading enterprise application modernization and technology transformation initiatives.
