Position Summary
Northeast Coating Technologies (NCT), part of the HEF Group, is seeking to hire a design technician or engineer to design fixtures and machine components supporting PVD metal coating and salt bath nitriding operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on with 1-3 years’ experience working with fabricators.
Being able to work closely with the team on the floor to understand the needs, the details, and the trouble shooting methods.

Reporting: to Regional Engineering manager
Key Responsibilities
  • Design tooling with CAD and especially SOLID WORKS
  • Design fixtures and machine components for PVD metal coating and Salt bath nitriding
  • Understand the needs on the production floor and design loads to maximize capacity
  • Work with different fabricators and provide accurate drawings with good tolerance
  • Hands on engagement regarding tooling and fixturing needs on the production floor
  • Learn all steps of the process in depth including polishing, degreasing, rinse, SBN treatment, oxidizing, quenching, oiling, etc.
  • Work as a team with production and quality teams to achieve customer required deliverables.
  • Create and manage technical documents
  • Liaise with HEF Group Research amp; Development, and Application Engineering organizations to develop effective working relationships to enhance operational and coating information and application engineering exchange.
  • Assist Operations and Sales in preparing price quotes based on quantity per batch by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, and other technical personnel.
  • Contribute to the assembly and installation of new equipment
  • Support colleagues and other departments across the region as required
  • Teamwork, flexibility, and commitment to learn and support
Qualifications
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience with CAD and Solid Works and designed and ordered tooling
  • Worked with Fabricators and understand correct tolerances
  • Hands on and enthusiastic to learn on the floor and through different theoretical trainings.
  • Need to have an active passport
