We are looking for a skilled, organized, dependable, and customer-focused Residential Appliance Repair Technician to join our growing team in Phoenix. As a technician, you will be the face of our company in the field—diagnosing appliance issues, providing honest repair solutions, and delivering the high level of service our customers have come to expect.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Advanced Diagnostics: Diagnose and troubleshoot appliance malfunctions using schematics, electrical diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer resources.
  • Precision Repairs: Perform repairs on residential appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, ranges, and dishwashers, with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and components that may be approaching failure before they become major issues.
  • Tool & Equipment Operation: Safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to disassemble, diagnose, repair, and reassemble appliances.
  • Electrical Testing: Utilize electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, wire strippers, and soldering equipment as required.
  • Field Logistics: Operate company vehicles responsibly and safely while traveling to customer homes for service calls.
  • Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous customer service by clearly explaining diagnostic findings, repair options, and the repair process while ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Safety: Follow all company, manufacturer, and job-site safety procedures, including proper electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and ladder safety practices.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain company tools, equipment, and parts inventory and communicate parts needs to the office.
  • Documentation: Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, parts used, and customer interactions.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of professional, hands-on experience in residential appliance repair or a closely related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • System Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
  • Brand Knowledge: Familiarity with major residential appliance brands, including Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, Bosch, and Frigidaire.
  • Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using common appliance repair tools and electrical testing equipment, including multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Safety: Strong understanding of job-site safety practices, including electrical safety, proper ladder use, and safe handling of tools and equipment.
  • Inventory & MRO: Familiarity with MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) practices and maintaining tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
  • Driving: Valid driver's license with a clean and insurable driving record.
  • Service Area: Ability to service daily dispatch routes throughout the Phoenix Valley. This is a field-based, in-person position.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screening, as the position requires entering customers' homes.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and safely move bulky appliances using appropriate hand trucks, sliders, and other moving equipment.

Preferred Qualifications — Not Required

  • EPA Certification: EPA Section 608 Universal or Type I certification, particularly for technicians performing sealed-system refrigeration work.
  • Trade Training: Graduation from a formal trade school or completion of recognized appliance diagnostic and repair training programs, such as Master Samurai Tech Academy.
  • Premium Appliance Experience: Experience servicing premium brands such as Sub-Zero, Wolf, or Miele is a plus.
