Job description

Prism Specialty Restoration, the industry leader in specialty contents restoration, is opening a new franchise in Las Vegas for the restoration of electronics, art, textiles, and documents for residential and commercial insurance claims.

  • Training: You will receive virtual and in-person training - travel required for training.
A Day in the Life of an Appliance and Electronics Restoration Technician:
  • On-site evaluation (in homes and businesses) of damaged appliances or electronics from insurance claims involving fire, water, or lightning strike damage.
  • Troubleshoot, identify problems, and repair fire and water restoration equipment, including dehumidifiers, blowers, air scrubbers, hydroxyl/ozone generators, foggers, water extractors, etc. from Restoration Contractors.
  • Inventory, remove, and transport electronic items and appliances.
  • Disassemble and evaluate electronic items to be cleaned, serviced, and/or repaired.
  • Test, clean, restore, and reassemble electronic items to pre-loss condition.
  • Follow basic troubleshooting guidelines on each piece of equipment, meeting target trouble shooting times, and other instructions provided by your supervisor.
  • Read equipment manuals and understand how the equipment operates.
  • Read electrical schematics and use a multi-meter to troubleshoot electrical problems.
  • Disassemble, remove bad parts, install replacement parts, assemble, and perform final equipment test equipment meeting target repair times.
  • Inventory items of equipment and record the model number, serial number, and take pictures using an iPad.
  • Record findings on problems, take corrective action, and log final test results in the computer that are easy to understand.
  • Order equipment parts as needed
  • Deliver and reinstall electronic items and appliances back to insured’s home or business.
 
What We are Looking for in You: 
  • Ability to successfully diagnose, clean, and repair appliances.
  • Comfortable working in dirty environments (within insureds’ homes or businesses) in post-peril (fire, floods, etc.) environments.
  • Ability to consistently exhibit empathy and compassion.
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional, neat, and clean appearance that represents the Prism Specialties brand.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment with a positive attitude.
  • Available to work overtime hours on occasion, including nights or weekends.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds during pick-up and delivery activities.
 
Compensation
  • Will consider part-time (3-4 days per week) or full-time.
  • Hourly: $18 to $25 per hour.
  • Company performance bonus.
  • Healthcare and 401K are not available at this time but are expected to be supplied as the business grows.
 
NOTE: Must be willing and able to pass criminal and motor vehicle operation background checks and be comfortable driving a 16’ box truck.
