Job description

Mac nerds wanted.

Speak Apple?

Enjoy solving weird tech puzzles, helping people, and staying calm when technology decides to have a personality?

One of our favorite clients is hiring a Mac Support Specialist to join their internal IT team in McLean, VA.

  • Note: This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on Mac support and Apple endpoint administration.
  • We've placed so many great people with this organization over many years, and they consistently tell me the same thing: "The people are smart, kind, collaborative, and they actually invest in helping you grow."

The team values curiosity, collaboration, and people who genuinely enjoy helping others succeed. It's also not what some call a hero culture; nobody wins points for hoarding knowledge or sounding like the smartest person in the room.

The company is a long-established, highly successful organization operating in the energy and fintech space. Because it is privately held, it has maintained a stable, long-term approach to growth and investment in both its people and technology.

What You'll Do

  • Provide on-site desktop and technical support for Mac users
  • You'll spend significant time working with Jamf, Munki, endpoint administration, software deployment, device management, and macOS support.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, application, and connectivity issues
  • Support macOS, iOS, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and other Apple devices
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Mac workstations
  • Manage endpoint security, device configuration, and system performance
  • Support workstation provisioning, lifecycle management, and asset tracking
  • Utilize tools such as Jamf, Munki, Puppet, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms
  • Assist with software deployment, patch management, upgrades, and rollouts
  • Support remote and on-site users, including executive-level employees
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge-base resources
  • Train and support end users on Apple technologies and best practices
  • Participate in continuous improvement of IT processes and workflows

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting macOS environments and Apple devices in a professional or enterprise environment
  • Hands-on experience with Jamf, Munki, Puppet, or similar endpoint management tools
  • Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Experience supporting Apple hardware and iOS devices
  • Familiarity with device deployment, endpoint security, and asset management
  • Basic scripting experience with Bash, Python, AppleScript, or similar tools is a plus
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, VPNs, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, and security best practices
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Someone who enjoys learning, solving problems, and helping people

We are looking for another fabulous team addition who is excited to build a long-term home, not a short-term stepping stone.

Why People Stay (they're happy here!)

  • Collaborative, low-ego environment
  • Strong mentors and professional growth
  • Excellent work-life balance
  • Stable and successful private company
  • Exposure to modern Apple enterprise technologies
  • Opportunity to work alongside experienced technical professionals who enjoy teaching and sharing knowledge

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time W2 position
  • $55,000–$65,000 annual salary
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • PTO, of course :)
  • Flexible scheduling options
  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • On-site in McLean, VA (near Metro with shuttle)

If you're someone who enjoys technology, likes helping people, and wants to grow your Apple expertise with a genuinely supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
