On our Merchant and Acquirer Business Development and Partnerships team, we build partnerships and strategic alliances with merchants, acquirers, processors, service providers, developers, FinTech partners and payment startups. Apple Pay acceptance and Apple Wallet feature adoption is growing and the strength of our partnerships makes that possible.
We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to support Apple Pay and Apple Wallet growth in the Americas. You will have the opportunity to work with a broad scope of internal teams who together build amazing financial products. You will build partnerships, expand Apple Pay acceptance, and launch Apple Wallet features with merchants and payment ecosystem partners that customers can’t live without.
Description
This individual contributor business development role is primarily external-facing with partners in the payment ecosystem. A significant portion of the role requires internal engagement. Travel (domestic and international) is required as needed. ","responsibilities":"Build and influence partner relationships at all levels
Sell Apple Pay and Apple Wallet strategies, products, features, and programs via a consultative sales approach
Uncover new growth opportunities that build an exciting customer experience
Craft and implement account strategies that will grow and scale share
Lead digital payment strategies with complex merchants and payment partners supporting digital wallets, card acceptance, merchant acquiring, card processing, card operations and the regulatory and network framework
Structure partnership deals and negotiate terms
Influence product strategy and roadmap by engaging the environment and sharing feedback
Use resources and think creatively to solve customer problems
Uncover opportunities, make decisions, and anticipate issues
Optimize the customer experience
Support cross-functional needs, priorities and ad-hoc account requests
Participate in external industry leading consortiums to guide decision-making
Track and report results and shifting priorities and realign focus as needed
Act as partner point of entry into Apple Pay
Preferred Qualifications
Exceptional ability to initiate internal and external business discussions, drive ongoing engagements and influence at all levels of an organization
Experience building positive and effective relationships with individuals and teams and a proven track record of relationship success
Outstanding critical thinking
Highly organized and accustomed to knowing and working in the detail
Very strong ability to juggle multiple workstreams simultaneously, and demonstrated ability to pivot based on business needs
Goal-oriented, results-driven self-starter with an ability to work autonomously while engaging, influencing and maintaining harmony with internal teams
Strong ability to ramp quickly and to grow and learn from subject matter experts and others in the organization
Several years of experience as a front line business development lead
Additional verbal and written language skills (French, Spanish and/or Portuguese)
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years work experience with 6+ years in account management with partners in the payment ecosystem (e.g. merchants, acquirers, processors, payment service providers, other payment developers, FinTech partners or payment startups)
Comprehensive experience in contactless or digital payment processing and cross channel digital wallet acceptance (in card present and card not present environments and emerging payment technologies)
Commercial experience and understanding of payment economics, payment fraud, risk, operations and issuer and network rules
B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree or work experience
Demonstrated business proficiency in written and verbal communications in English
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $119,700 and $225,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition.
