ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER
Location: Vinton Family Medical Clinic
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our medical team in a very busy family medicine clinic. The ideal candidate will assist in patient care management, treatment, and consultation.
Please Note: No holidays, very limited Saturday morning.
Duties:
  • Conduct patient assessments and provide appropriate medical care
  • Participate in the development, execution and periodic review of the written policies governing the services the clinic furnishes.
  • Provide services in accordance with those policies.
  • Arrange for, or refer patients to, needed services that cannot be provided at the clinic.
  • Assure that adequate patient health records are maintained and transferred as required when patients are referred.
  • Participate with a physician in a periodic review of the patient’s health records.
  • Advanced NP shall perform medical services in accordance with the rules of ethics governing the practice of medicine.
  • Advanced NP is responsible to attend required educational offerings to maintain licensure in the State of Iowa.
  • Advanced NP shall delegate duties to support staff as appropriate.
  • Advanced NP shall serve as medical staff representative on Virginia Gay Hospital committees as appropriate.
  • Advanced NP shall maintain medical staff privileges at Virginia Gay Hospital.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs
  • Utilize medical imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Collaborate with physicians in various departments including ER
