Job Summary:
AmeriLife is a leader in the development, marketing, and distribution of annuity, life, and health insurance solutions. They are seeking an Integration Architect to define integration strategy, lead architecture decisions, and guide delivery teams in building secure, scalable, and reusable integrations.
Responsibilities:
• Define and drive enterprise integration architecture across application, data, and API domains.
• Lead end-to-end integration solution design for complex, multi-system ecosystems.
• Establish integration standards, patterns, governance, and best practices.
• Own API-led architecture and lifecycle management, including API design, security, versioning.
• Architect and implement enterprise messaging solutions using Message Queues and event streaming platforms (including Kafka).
• Establish standards for reliable event delivery, schema/version management, idempotency, and observability across distributed systems.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate business capabilities into integration roadmaps.
• Lead technical reviews, architecture boards, and platform modernization initiatives.
• Mentor integration developers; provide technical leadership across projects.
• Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, observability, reliability, and security.
• Drive integration platform adoption and rationalization across leading middleware and API management platforms.
• Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to enable CI/CD, automated testing, and operational excellence for integrations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 15+ years of overall IT experience, with significant focus on enterprise integration architecture.
• Proven experience in application integration, data integration, event-driven integration, and hybrid/cloud integration models.
• Solid understanding of event-driven integration concerns such as ordering, retries, dead-letter handling, fault tolerance, and eventual consistency.
• Proven hands-on experience in API-Led connectivity architecture and implementation at enterprise scale.
• Strong experience in data integration, including structured and semi-structured data flows across enterprise applications.
• Proven hands-on experience with ETL/ELT frameworks, data mapping, transformation, and pipeline orchestration.
• Strong API management expertise, including API design standards, gateway policies, security patterns (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS), and developer portal strategy.
• Hands-on experience with leading integration and API platforms (for example MuleSoft, Apigee, Boomi or similar).
Preferred:
• MuleSoft certifications (for example Integration Architect / Platform Architect)
• Azure Integration Services experience is a plus, including API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, and Azure Functions.
• Experience with event streaming ecosystems and enterprise event governance frameworks.
• Azure Data Factory (ADF) experience is a plus, including pipeline orchestration, linked services, mapping data flows, and monitoring.
