Job description

  • This person will be responsible for providing technical leadership to an engineering team tasked with the design, development, and maintenance of backend services, APIs, and distributed systems for Digital Engineering
  • This role uses deep technical expertise in Java-based microservices, container orchestration, and modern integration patterns to solve complex business problems through a systematic and disciplined approach.
  • The Services Engineering Lead architects shared components and standards across all brands while also maintaining accountability for the overall engineering health of their product area
  • 7+ years of software development/engineering experience
  • 2+ years in a lead or technical leadership role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservice architecture and design patterns
  • Implement reactive programming patterns (WebFlux, Project Reactor) and non-blocking I/O
  • Experience with Maven-based Spring/Spring Boot (reactive programming a plus)
  • Proficiency with Docker/containers and Kubernetes with Kustomize
  • Design and maintain GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipeline architecture using Argo CD
  • Build and support event-driven architectures using Kafka and messaging patterns
  • Experience with Couchbase or other NoSQL databases
