Mission Infrastructure | Linux & Windows Administration | Secure Network Operations

About the Role:

Aperio Global is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support a mission-critical enclave environment consisting of both physical and virtual infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on operational environment and enjoys owning the health, security, and performance of complex systems that directly support critical mission operations.

As a key member of a small, highly collaborative team, you will be responsible for maintaining secure and reliable infrastructure, administering network resources, managing system compliance, and ensuring mission continuity across the enterprise.

What You'll Do:
Administer, maintain, and secure mission-critical Linux and Windows environments
Manage physical and virtual infrastructure supporting operational mission systems
Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, servers, and supporting technologies
Create, modify, and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
Perform system updates, patching, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening
Monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot outages, and resolve connectivity issues
Configure and maintain firewalls, network devices, and secure communications pathways
Support data management, data movement, backup, and recovery operations
Conduct vulnerability scans and support compliance requirements across the environment
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to ensure system availability and performance

Mission Focus:

Support and sustain the secure infrastructure that enables mission success. This role is responsible for ensuring operational continuity, maintaining secure data flows, and protecting critical systems that support intelligence and analytic operations.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience administering Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Experience supporting Windows Server environments and enterprise services
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, client-server architectures, and system administration best practices
Experience managing user accounts, permissions, authentication, and access controls
Experience maintaining network infrastructure and troubleshooting complex system and connectivity issues
Experience with vulnerability management, system hardening, patch management, and security compliance
Knowledge of data management, data transfer, backup, and recovery processes
Understanding of STE/STN operational requirements

Desired Qualifications:
Experience with customer analytic platforms and mission systems
Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management using Ansible
Experience supporting containerized environments and repositories such as Quay
Experience with GitLab for source control and DevOps workflows
Experience administering virtualized environments using VMware
Familiarity with customer technologies such as LatteArt and Biscotti
Experience supporting highly secure intelligence or national security environments
Security Requirements
**Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required**
