Job description

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Platform Foreman will provide on-site leadership and day-to-day oversight of all production operations and personnel aboard offshore platforms. This position ensures safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operations across all platforms and serves as a key liaison between the offshore crew, engineering teams, contractors, and support functions. The Foreman coordinates logistics, leads personnel, manages operations, and supports engineering efforts to ensure optimal platform performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as Ultimate Work Authority (UWA) for the facility.
  • Provide daily leadership to operations personnel to execute production goals while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Set priorities and assign tasks to offshore crews; ensure alignment with production targets and platform performance metrics.
  • Coordinate activities with engineering, construction, logistics, and regulatory teams.
  • Manage simultaneous operations.
  • Oversee personnel logistics (crew boats and helicopters) and material delivery via supply boats to/from offshore platforms.
  • Provide support and guidance on downhole operations, including gas lift systems, ESP operations, and well optimization.
  • Oversee operation and maintenance of all equipment including separation systems, gas compression, and water handling systems.
  • Monitor and maintain knowledge of platform utilities: power generation, HVAC, facility air, heat medium, seawater cooling, desalination, and waste systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, including30CFR250, Santa Barbara County APCD permits, DOT regulations, and NPDES requirements, and others.
  • Manage emergency response efforts as incident commander and maintain platform readiness for audits or inspections.
  • Foster a safety-focused and performance-driven culture among employees and contractors.
  • Maintain communication with Production Superintendent and engineering teams to report operational issues or improvement opportunities.
  • Interface regularly with regulatory agencies such as BSEE, USCG, Santa Barbara County APCD, and others.
  • Collaborate with internal departments on special projects, repairs, and capital improvements.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
  • 14-14 rotation schedule/12-hour workdays

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of oilfield experience required; at least 5 years in a supervisory or foreman-level role.
  • Experience managing both company and contractor personnel in a 24/7 operations setting.
  • Strong understanding of offshore production operations, platform systems, logistics operations, and downhole technologies.
  • Familiarity with oilfield terminology and operating practices.
  • Proven ability to lead teams under pressure and in remote environments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations applicable to offshore platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with Access and Microsoft Project a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

PAY INFORMATION:
  • Annual Salary: $200k - $235k

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires manual dexterity to handle documents and operate office equipment such as printers, shredders, and computers. Also required is performing repetitive motions and extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking for varying lengths of time. The position requires interacting and communicating professionally with others via speaking, hearing, and writing; learning new tasks, processes, and concepts; thinking to solve problems; concentrating on required tasks; distinguishing color and depth perception; and reading data, figures, electronic and hard copy documents.
Visual and manual dexterity are extremely important for this position. The incumbent will be subject to performing sedentary to light work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, or constantly lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, reaching overhead for items, stooping, bending, and twisting while working. Other physical activities include the ability to utilize fingers to feel and grasp objects or work devices as needed and manual dexterity in the use of the hands, seeing, talking, hearing, performing repetitive motions, and standing for long periods of time.
The position requires walking or traversing over and across uneven terrain, accessing areas outdoors and on or around equipment, over or around obstacles or structures such as pipes, low rails, and walls, stooping or bending to reach certain locations, climbing stairs and ladders, and exposure to outside weather conditions.
The position may require facility inspections, which necessitate wearing a respirator and personal protective equipment, such as gloves, gas masks (SCBA), and suits, with an average weight of 10-25 pounds.
