Rsum du Rle

Le gestionnaire de catgorie mondial (GCM) pour grer exclusivement notre fournisseur de compresseurs le plus critique et ncessite un mlange de sens commercial, de profondeur technique et de diplomatie stratgique.


Ce rle agira en tant que ngociateur en chef et chef de crise pour ce compte, assurant que notre entreprise bnficie d'un traitement prfrentiel dans l'allocation des capacits et la tarification. Ce rle recevra une escalade des rgions et reprsentera Smardt pour piloter des protocoles d'intervention rapide pour les questions commerciales, de livraison, de qualit et de garantie critiques, tout en favorisant une collaboration interrgionale fluide.

Principales Responsabilits

Relation stratgique avec les fournisseurs et ngociation fort impact

  • Gestion exclusive des comptes : Servez de point de contact mondial unique pour notre fournisseur de compresseurs le plus stratgique. Grez tous les points de contact, de l'achat tactique l'engagement au niveau de la direction.
  • Scurisation de la capacit : Dirigez des ngociations fort impact pour obtenir une allocation prfrentielle de capacit. Dvelopper des cas d'affaires convaincants pour assurer que nos chanes de production reoivent un approvisionnement ininterrompu avant les concurrents en cas de pnurie de march.
  • Optimisation commerciale : Favoriser les ngociations annuelles de tarification et le renouvellement des accords mondiaux.


Gestion des questions critiques de qualit (CQI) et application de la responsabilit

  • Leadership en rponse rapide : tablir et appliquer un protocole d'intervention rapide rigoureux pour tous les enjeux critiques de qualit (CQI). Travailler avec l'expertise de Smardt et le fournisseur de compresseurs pour laborer des actions immdiates de confinement afin de minimiser les perturbations de la production mondiale et des oprations sur le terrain.
  • Gestion de la responsabilit et des rclamations : agir en tant que ngociateur principal concernant la responsabilit en matire de qualit. Incitez le fournisseur reconnatre rapidement la responsabilit des dfauts systmiques et assurer un rglement rapide de la rcupration des cots, incluant la refonte, la ferraille et la logistique. Travailler avec les dpartements de la Qualit pour guiderle fournisseur pour une analyse rigoureuse des causes profondes (RCA) et la vrification des actions correctives (8D) afin d'viter la rcurrence des dfauts en srie.


Coordination et communication mondiales

  • Liaison rgionale : agir comme centre de nos sites de fabrication travers la NA, l'EMEA et l'APAC. Facilitez des synchronisations rgulires pour s'aligner sur les prvisions de la demande, les stratgies d'inventaire et les boucles de rtroaction sur la qualit locale.
  • Front unifi : Recueillir les commentaires des responsables rgionaux de la chane d'approvisionnement et des oprations afin d'engager le fournisseur d'une seule voix
  • Rapports excutifs : Fournir une visibilit claire la direction mondiale sur la performance des fournisseurs, l'tat d'attnuation des risques et les rsultats de ngociation grce des tableaux de bord mensuels et des revues d'affaires trimestrielles.


Rsilience de la chane d'approvisionnement

  • quilibre entre l'offre et la demande : Travailler en troite collaboration avec la planification mondiale de la demande pour traduire les prvisions en engagements fermes envers les fournisseurs. What We're Looking For:


The Global Category Manager (GCM) to exclusively manage our most critical compressor supplier and requires a blend of commercial acumen, technical depth, and strategic diplomacy.

This role will act as the "Chief Negotiator" and "Crisis Lead" for this account, ensuring our company receives preferential treatment in capacity allocation and pricing. This role will receive escalation from regions and represent Smardt to drive rapid response protocols for critical commercial, delivery, quality, warranty issues while fostering seamless cross-regional collaboration.


This role is 100% on site and you'll be expected to work on a daily basis, side-by-side, with your team.


What You'll Do:


Strategic Supplier Relationship & High-Impact Negotiation

  • Exclusive Account Management: Serve as the sole global point of contact for our most strategic compressor supplier. Manage all touchpoints from tactical purchasing to executive-level engagement.
  • Capacity Securement: Lead high-impact negotiations to secure preferential capacity allocation. Develop compelling business cases to ensure our production lines receive uninterrupted supply ahead of competitors during market shortages.
  • Commercial Optimization: Drive annual pricing negotiations and global agreement renewal.


Critical Quality Issues (CQI) Management & Liability Enforcement

  • Rapid Response Leadership: Establish and enforce a stringent "Rapid Response Protocol" for all Critical Quality Issues (CQI). Work with Smardt expertise and the compressor supplier to work out immediate containment actions to minimize disruption to global production and field operations.
  • Liability & Claims Management: Act as the lead negotiator regarding quality liability. Drive the supplier to promptly acknowledge responsibility for systemic defects and ensure swift settlement of cost recovery, including rework, scrap, and logistics. Work with Quality departments to push the supplier for rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and verification of corrective actions (8D) to prevent recurrence of serial defects.


Global Coordination & Communication

  • Regional Liaison: Act as the central hub for our manufacturing sites across NA, EMEA, and APAC. Facilitate regular syncs to align on demand forecasts, inventory strategies, and local quality feedback loops.
  • Unified Front: Collect inputs from regional supply chain and operation leaders to engage the supplier with one voice
  • Executive Reporting: Provide clear visibility to Global Leadership on supplier performance, risk mitigation status, and negotiation outcomes through monthly dashboards and Quarterly Business Reviews.


Supply Chain Resilience

  • Demand-Supply Balancing: Work closely with Global Demand Planning to translate forecasts into firm supplier commitments. Manage the allocation strategy during shortage periods to ensure fair distribution across regions based on business priorities.
  • Risk Mitigation: Monitor supplier financial health and operational bottlenecks. Develop and maintain contingency plans to de-risk the single-source dependency

    • Experience in managing stakeholders across multiple time zones
