UltraViolet Cyber is a leading platform-enabled unified security operations company providing a comprehensive suite of security operations solutions. Founded and operated by security practitioners with decades of experience, the UltraViolet Cyber security-as-code platform combines technology innovation and human expertise to make advanced real-time cybersecurity accessible for all organizations by eliminating risks of separate red and blue teams.

By creating continuously optimized identification, detection, and resilience from today’s dynamic threat landscape, UltraViolet Cyber provides both managed and custom-tailored unified security operations solutions to the Fortune 500, Federal Government, and Commercial clients. UltraViolet Cyber is headquartered in McLean, Virginia, with global offices across the U.S. and in India.

We’re looking for an experienced, strategic Payroll Manager to own payroll operations across our global workforce spanning North America, EMEA, and APAC. This isn’t a back-office support role; it’s a high-visibility position at the intersection of HR, finance, and compliance, where your expertise directly shapes how a growing company pays and retains its people.

You’ll manage end-to-end payroll for 700+ employees across the United States, Canada, the UK, and India, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless employee experience at every pay cycle. You’ll partner closely with HR and Finance to support labor cost planning, systems integrity, and audit readiness — and you’ll have real ownership over how payroll evolves as we scale.

What You’ll Do: Payroll Operations & Compliance
  • Lead end-to-end semi-monthly and monthly payroll processing for 350+ employees and contractors across multiple EINs in the U.S. and Canada (NAM).
  • Oversee payroll operations in India (APAC) for 400+ employees, partnering with regional teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and cross-border alignment.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws; including timely tax filings, withholdings, and multi-state registrations.
  • Reconcile payroll liabilities (taxes, benefits, garnishments) in close partnership with HR and Finance.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to reconcile journal entries, ensuring accurate labor expense classification across entities.
  • Maintain timely updates to compensation, deductions, and benefits in partnership with HR.
  • Manage HSA contribution uploads, ensuring accurate and timely funding in coordination with benefits and banking partners.
  • Oversee UK pension import processes, ensuring compliance with auto-enrolment requirements and accurate submission to pension providers.
  • Champion data integrity and security across all payroll systems and employee records.
  • Serve as the escalation point for employee payroll inquiries; responsive, clear, and professional.
Labor Cost Allocation & Financial Reporting
  • Coordinate with Accounting to post labor costs from timesheet systems into the ERP and appropriate cost centers.
  • Work with Accounting to segment payroll across direct and indirect cost pools; project-based costs, fringe, overhead, and G&A.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Project Accounting on labor forecasting and headcount budget planning.
  • Prepare payroll-related metrics, management reports, and audit-ready documentation.
Systems, Automation & Controls
  • Reconcile payroll outputs against ERP systems, banking platforms, and financial tools (e.g., Ramp, ADP).
  • Drive payroll system automation, improvements, and migration projects; ensuring data accuracy and continuity throughout.
  • Enforce payroll-related GL coding and segmentation policies across departments.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation and internal controls around payroll processes and approvals.
Audit & Compliance Leadership
  • Lead payroll components of internal and external audits; identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filings for federal and state wage and tax reports (W-2, 941, etc.).
  • Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors on payroll compliance and filing obligations.
  • Maintain state payroll registrations and ongoing reporting requirements across all applicable jurisdictions.
What You Have: Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state, multi-entity environment — NAM, EMEA and/or APAC exposure strongly preferred.
  • Experience with multi-currency payroll and foreign exchange considerations.
  • Strong knowledge of US payroll tax law, compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting; familiarity with UK and/or India payroll regulations a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with timesheet systems, labor cost segmentation, and payroll journal entries.
  • Advanced Excel skills — reconciliation, data validation, pivot tables, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll platform.
  • Clear communicator with a track record of effective cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Unwavering discretion with sensitive and confidential employee information.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and data privacy regulations required for EMEA payroll operations.
  • Familiarity with Ramp or similar modern financial platforms.
  • Knowledge of project-based cost allocations and indirect rate structures.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Global Payroll Management (GPM) certification(s).
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives
  • Flexible working hours and remote‑first culture
  • Career growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding company
  • Exposure to enterprise‑level finance and payroll operations
  • Supportive team culture with a focus on excellence and collaboration
  • 401(k), including an employer match of 100% of the first 3% contributed and 50% of the next 2% contributed
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance (available on the 1st day of the month following your first day of employment)
  • Group Term Life, Short‑Term Disability, Long‑Term Disability
  • Voluntary Life, Hospital Indemnity, Accident, and/or Critical Illness
  • Participation in the Discretionary Time Off (DTO) Program
  • 11 Paid Holidays Annually

$80,000 - $100,000 a year
