Forensic Accounting for Claims Preperation- Virtual in US !!

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Aon Property & Risk Consulting business group within Aon Risk Solutions. This role is specifically seeking a Senior Claim Preparation Leader with particular knowledge and experience related to construction claims including Builders Risk with soft costs, delayed start up, and related business interruption claims. You will report directly to the Managing Director of Claims Preparation, Advocacy and Valuation.

What the day will look like

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As respects property damage, business interruption and other first party claims

  • Develop a following with producers, account executives and property brokers that lead to development of a book of business that establishes you as a go-to person in this area.
  • Actively communicates value-added services to clients and prospects
  • Executes service/projects/contract obligations efficiently and timely as demonstrated through documentation, correspondence, and professional deliverables.
  • Oversee and manage multiple consultants which includes monitoring their workloads, providing technical and professional coaching and support, conducting performance reviews and annual merit/bonus discussions
  • Communicate to team members on workload, status of projects
  • Time and expense tracking - On a regular basis, track time and expense for client billing and internal usage.Monitor time of direct reports
  • Interact with office leadership, make presentations on team capabilities and success stories.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience
  • Mathematics and Accounting Principles - Using mathematics and advanced accounting principles to solve problems
  • Ability to be proactive and to prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Interpersonal & teamwork- Working cooperatively with others - peers, supervisors, direct-reports, clients, adjusters, auditors and building relationships to mutually achieve the goals
  • Technical Insurance Knowledge - have strong knowledge of basic principles of insurance, the roles of the players and how property insurance coverage applies. With a particular emphasis on construction and infrastructure claims, eg delayed start up, soft costs, business interruption
  • Deductive Reasoning - the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Mathematical Reasoning - the ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem
  • Oral Expression - the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
  • Written Expression - the ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand
  • Delegation - be able to juggle client demands with management responsibilities and delegate tasks to others.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Travel - job requires approximately 30% domestic and potentially international travel

MINIMUM EDUCATION


Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university. Accounting degree strongly preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License; preferred but not required

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $200,000 to $250,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
