Job description

The Insurance Vertical Aon Client Leader (ACL) is accountable for managing Aon's relationship for key insurance industry clients across geographies and solution lines, in close collaboration with Reinsurance, Inpoint, STG and other Account Executives. Primary objectives of this role are to have a core understanding of the Insurance industry and client needs, match those client needs to Aon capabilities, be a strong client advocate, collaborate with a client team of Aon colleagues to deliver one firm to Aon's insurance company clients.

What the day will look like
  • Drives business results for assigned insurer clients, meeting new business and retention metrics by client across solution lines and geographies.
  • Challenges and influences client strategy through discovery sessions and creates entry points for colleagues across Aon Solution Lines
  • Develops a relationship with key decision makers across the client as the key point of contact at Aon, regardless of solution line or geography - maintains an up-to-date relationship mapping that is shared across client teams.
  • Influences all levels of Aon to ensure excellent client delivery and shares strategy and planning with the larger Aon client team through regular check ins, and Client Planning sessions.
  • Builds a detailed understanding of the client's strategy, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Collaborates on Reinsurance, Commercial Risk Solutions and Human Capital pipeline globally and proactively helps teams win opportunities.
  • Aon IQ - through formal training and knowledge sharing in addition to participation in client planning across geographies and solution lines, maintains strong knowledge of Aon's capabilities, relevant to the Insurance Company Clients
  • Encourages proactive Jeopardy management and ensures things are flagged early and seek support from relevant SL leadership.
  • Support the industry vertical team and ACL community by closing the client feedback loop and by bringing key thought leadership to light with the client stakeholders.
  • Proactively manages client participation in key Aon events such as CABs, Market world and other insurance forums and represents Aon at key industry events.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Insurance industry IQ: deep knowledge and experience within Insurance industry and ability to access Aon resources for content and solution delivery for insurance industry clients; demonstrable understanding of the themes, trends and issues faced by insurer clients and the ability to match those trends and themes to relevant Aon solutions and resources.
  • Relationship capital: Builds and maintains deep client relationships at the executive level across multiple buying centers, and uses that capital to understand objectives, influence client thinking, and create results.
  • Business Acumen: Fully understands the client market environment and the strategic positioning of the client; able to connect client strategy to all Aon capabilities.
  • Consulting skills: Identifies client needs and clearly articulates the problem to be solved; recognizes challenges and barriers to solving them and assembles internal resources to achieve the desired client outcome.
  • Financial acumen: Builds strong knowledge of the client's financials and strategy and is adept in discussing this with the client and internal teams.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $250,000 to $300,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in Aon's annual incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any incentives varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
Aon offers a comprehensive package of benefits for full-time and regular part-time colleagues, including, but not limited to: a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions; an employee stock purchase plan; consideration for long-term incentive awards at Aon's discretion; medical, dental and vision insurance. This role does not accrue vacation. Rather, this role is eligible to take paid time off at the discretion of the employee and management in accordance with company policy and practices.
