Title
Clinic Registered Nurse Lead (RN)
Job Summary
The Clinic RN Lead will provide day-to-day supervision, leadership, clinical care and/or education processes for the clinical staff. This position is responsible for meeting established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment, and coordinating teamwork with all members of the health care team. This position will maintain interface with physicians, providers, patients and administrative support staff to resolve problems relating to clinic services and communicate with Clinic Nurse Manager or Clinic Director.
It is expected that the Clinic RN Lead position's daily work will encompass both lead and direct patient care responsibilities. The objective is to assist the department in achieving efficient workflow processes, high quality clinical outcomes, and exemplary patient experiences.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $42.70-$60.28. This range reflects the base wage for this position.
Key Accountabilities
  • Provide a consistent, visible, and accessible leadership presence at their clinic
  • Creates an environment of patient care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working environment.
  • Provides necessary equipment and resources for staff to complete their work.
  • Ensures adequate staffing, adjusting staffing plans as necessary to ensure quality care and productivity levels.
  • May fill in for clinical support staff when staffing gaps exist.
  • Ensures consistent delivery of quality care for patients and customers and works with the interdisciplinary team to promote best outcomes.
  • Serves as a resource and support person for Front Desk, Call Center and Referral operations within their clinic locations.
  • Provides resources and education to staff regarding job role expectations and key performance behaviors.
  • Supports ongoing training through regular staff meetings and assists staff in seeking out training opportunities.
  • Communicates new/revised policies, protocols, and instructions to assigned personnel.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, coaches, evaluates staff and provides regular performance reviews, addressing performance issues in collaboration with the Clinic Nurse Manager.
  • Develops and utilizes comprehensive orientation and training for all new staff to ensure success.
  • Monitors, reviews, and corrects timecards as needed to ensure accurate documentation of hours worked.
  • Maintains current certifications in specialty and continues education when necessary as well as tracks and maintains staff certifications and education as needed.
  • Ensures customer/patient concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Role model for professional interpersonal communication in the work environment.
  • Leads quality measures and process improvement activities within Clinic.
  • Oversee inventory levels and supplies for department.
  • Address issues escalated by providers, staff and patients; seek out appropriate leaders or partners to problem solve and process improve.
  • Work collaboratively with department leadership in administrating policies and procedures regarding patient flow and utilization of space, time, supplies, and equipment.
  • Perform duties as a Clinic RN
    • Fill in for Clinic RN Care Coordinator for vacations and sick calls
    • Perform nurse visits
    • Refills medications via standing order when appropriate.
    • Provides safe and effective nursing care and support to the provider team.
    • Delegates tasks to unlicensed care team as needed to implement care.
    • Assists RN Care Coordinators clinic wide with management of anticoagulation therapy patients.
    • Assist RN Care Coordinators clinic wide with phone triage during high volume times.
    • Administer medications by oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, and intravenous routes.
    • Follows nursing policies and procedures for Intravenous infusion.
    • Ensures autoclave is maintained per schedule and assists in the training of staff on proper use of the autoclave machine.
    • Educate patient and/or family on prescribed treatment regimens.
    • Perform invasive nursing procedures to include urinary catheter insertions, throat, nasal nasopharyngeal swabs, aspirations, would cultures, wound care, and dressing changes.
    • Assist with cast/splint application, cast removal fitting of splints, crutches, and other orthotic devices

Required Qualifications
  • Current unrestricted RN License with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
  • Current BLS must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter)
  • Maintain valid Minnesota Driver's License and driving record that meets NH&C driving standards
  • Must have at least three years' experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a clinical role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability for problem-solving, attention to detail, decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to learn and use electronic health records and other computer programs.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years' previous leadership/management experience preferred.
  • Previous ambulatory care experience.
  • Previous phone triage experience.
  • Experience working with Quality measures and process improvements.

Schedule
  • 64 hours per two-week pay period (0.8 FTE)
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:00am -4:30pm
