Duties & Responsibilities:
Electronics Automated Test System Operator - 2nd Shift
Position Summary The Electronics Automated Test System Operator is responsible for operating automated test stands to evaluate avionics and communications test (service monitor) units. This role requires strong technical discipline, the ability to interpret test results, and the skill to identify potential modes of failure. The operator will manage a mixed-model workflow, balancing multiple product types while maintaining accuracy, urgency, and adherence to established processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate automated electronic test systems to execute test sequences on a variety of avionics and communications test units.
  • Review, interpret, and validate test results; identify abnormal behavior and potential failure modes.
  • Prioritize work effectively in a mixed-model environment with varying product types and complexity.
  • Follow explicit test instructions, procedures, and work instructions, as well as implicit expectations based on product knowledge and operational needs.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams when failures require deeper investigation.
  • Maintain accurate records of test outcomes, failures, and rework requirements.
  • Ensure test equipment is used properly and safely, reporting any anomalies or equipment concerns.
  • Support a culture of urgency, quality, and continuous improvement within the test area.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic test equipment, automated test systems, or related technical environments preferred.
  • Ability to interpret test data, logs, and failure indicators.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a mixed-model workflow.
  • High attention to detail and adherence to process discipline.
  • Effective communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work independently on 2nd shift with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

  • Overtime: Occasionally required (<5%), based on production demand
