Job description

Currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to partner with THE Global Leader in Laser and Electro-Optics for the DoD, Aerospace and NASA customer. Advanced Lasers, Lidars and Laser Communication Systems are all areas of expertise!
Onsite Requirements: Position to be performed onsite in Herndon, VA at company Headquarters. 
This is a permanent and long-term opportunity offering solid benefits and stability, as well as RELOCATION ASSISTANCE if needed. Security Clearance NOT required. 
About The Position:
  • Leading technical team efforts to create mechanical system laser design solutions and architecture.
  • Detailing design CAD models and drawings.
  • Analyzing systems thermally and structurally
  • Initiating procurements.
  • Supporting assembly and testing of systems.
  • Preparing technical reports.
  • Leading design review meetings.
  • Creating new concepts in support of business development opportunities.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in the design and analysis of electro-optical systems for military and/or aerospace applications
  • Experience in the design of thermal control systems, packaging of electronics, precision mechanisms, and sealed enclosures
  • Expertise in Creo software
  • Experience with ANSYS software a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
