Job description

Acts as a team leader and performs independent analysis of commercial loan requests for the purpose of recommending approval, denial, alternative structure and submission to Loan Committee.

Provides secure, accurate, responsive, and courteous customer service to both internal and external customers at all times.

Primary objective of this position is to be a trusted advisor to every internal and external customer. Inspires confidence and builds lasting relationships by consistently exhibiting each of the trusted advisor skills in order to help our customers identify and achieve their financial goals.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Serves as primary underwriter for larger commercial loan requests or requests of a complex nature.
  • Conducts annual analysis and prepares memorandums for large commercial loan relationships.
  • Assists with spreads, risk ratings, and smaller loan requests as assigned, dependent on volume.
  • Independently discusses alternative structures, overall assessments, and turnaround requirements with commercial loan officers and credit management.
  • Attends Loan Committee meetings, as appropriate, to be available to answer questions regarding credit analysis and to assist with presenting the data.
  • Acts as a team leader and mentor to junior analysts.
Other Job Functions:
  • Proactively updates knowledge and develops professionally on a continuing basis through various training resources.
  • Assists with department projects, training, and other initiatives, as assigned.
  • Other duties as requested by management.
Job RequirementsQualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business/finance, accounting, or economics.
  • 3-5 years Credit Analyst or other applicable experience.
  • Strong analytical and accounting background required.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work assignments; detail oriented with flexibility in dealing with a changing work environment, customer service oriented and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong computer skills, i.e., word processing, spreadsheets and menu-driven software, are preferred.
  • Ability to maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Ability to read and understand regulations, policies and procedures; use grammatically correct and clear oral and written communication.
  • Must comply with all bank policies and procedures that are job related and/or consistent with business necessity.
General Physical Demands and Workplace Conditions:
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push or pull or otherwise move objects within the immediate work station.
  • Must be able to walk, sit or stand frequently, up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to tolerate encounters with coworkers and customers under the following conditions: atmospheric pollutants or allergens, including but not limited to fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation; changes in indoor/outdoor temperatures encountered in travel between buildings and branches.
  • Other physical attributes required to successfully perform the essential functions above include finger agility, talking, and listening.
