SENIOR ESTIMATOR- HOUSTON, TEXAS

 

WEBCO HR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator for one of our clients located in Houston, Texas

SUMMARY:

Our client is looking for a Senior Estimator who knows heavy civil and roadway work and wants to be part of projects that truly shape Texas communities. We are looking for someone who can step in and take ownership of complex DOT and heavy civil estimates while working alongside experienced operations and estimating teams on large-scale infrastructure projects across the state.

 This role will focus on hard bid estimating for roadway and heavy civil construction projects throughout the Houston market and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for heavy civil and roadway projects.

· Analyze plans, specifications, quantities, subcontractor pricing, and production rates.

· Develop estimates for: Concrete and asphalt paving.

· Road widening and reconstruction.

· Drainage and underground utility work.

· Dirt work and earthwork.

· Highway and bridge projects.

· Collaborate closely with operations, project management, and leadership teams during the bid process.

· Attend pre-bid meetings and support overall bid strategy.

· Help identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within estimates

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

· Minimum of 4 years of heavy civil/highway estimating experience involving:

· Concrete and asphalt paving.

· Road widening.

· Drainage lines.

· Road reconstruction.

· Bridge work.

· Roadway dirt work.

· Minimum of 4 years of hard bid estimating experience.

· Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Estimator or a combination of Project Engineer and Estimating experience on heavy civil projects ranging from approximately $5M–$30M.

· Experience estimating heavy civil concrete structures, roadway, bridge, and excavation projects.

· Strong experience performing quantity take-offs, material pricing, and cost analysis including calculations involving area, volume, and quantities.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience using estimating and scheduling software such as Primavera, Viewpoint, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, or similar construction management platforms.

· Strong computer skills including spreadsheet, project management, and word processing software.

· Expertise in tools such as Bid2Win, HCSS HeavyBid, Primavera/Planera, AGTEK, Autodeck Civil 3D.

· Expert in bottom-up estimating and subject matter expert in one or more RLW market sectors.

COMPENSATION:

· $150,000 - $180,000.
