Summary:

Electrical Engineers and Electrical Designers are responsible for the design, coordination, documentation, and delivery of electrical building systems for an “Anonymous Client” Sector. Think Remodels and New Builds for many of their storefront and distribution locations. Depending on experience level, individuals may perform engineering calculations, prepare and review design documents, coordinate with project teams, manage tasks or projects, provide technical leadership, mentor others, and support business development activities. All team members are expected to uphold a client-centric mindset, demonstrate quality and integrity, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and continuously learning environment.

Today’s buildings are rapidly evolving. Electrical system design is no longer as simple as lighting and power design overlaid onto an architectural background.  Our engineers understand that the electrical system forms the foundation that makes the building come to life.  It’s a responsibility that we take very seriously.   We balance the rigorous requirements of life safety and code compliance with practicality and aesthetic considerations to deliver a design that supports life of the building and delivers on our client’s vision for the project.

Position Summary:

Responsible for guiding complex electrical engineering efforts. This role provides advanced technical expertise, leads discipline teams, oversees project quality, mentors designers and engineers, resolves major design and construction challenges, and contributes to practice-level strategy, operations, and business development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical engineering design from concept through completion for complex or large-scale projects.
  • Direct or oversee the preparation of design documents, system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Develop solutions to advanced and highly complex engineering problems, providing discipline-wide technical guidance.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach across teams and practices, including supervising less experienced designers and engineers.
  • Participate in or lead staffing recommendations, training initiatives, and technical strategy development.
  • Provide quality oversight, including conducting and/or issuing final quality reviews to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
  • Communicate with clients, resolve conflicts, and provide leadership in responding to technical questions or design challenges.
  • Lead or support strategic business development efforts and maintain key client and partner relationships.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record when assigned, ensuring technical accuracy, accountability, and adherence to professional standards.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, or architectural)
  • 9+ years of relevant experience 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred, required for EOR’s.
  • Additional technical certifications (e.g., RCDD, NICET, CPD, LEED, WELL) highly preferred.
  • Advanced to expert proficiency in electrical engineering design, applicable codes and standards, Revit, Bluebeam, and construction processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discipline coordination and manage complex or large-scale project scopes.
  • MEP/Construction Industry experience
  • High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus.
  • Clear communication and willingness to ask questions.
  • Accountability, reliability, and ethical behavior.
  • Commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Collaboration and receptiveness to feedback.

Pay Transparency:

Individual salaries may be higher or lower than the stated range depending on factors unrelated to the applicant’s race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ethnicity, age, or disability. Salary can vary from this range based on geographic cost of labor statistical differentials.
