JAKKS Pacific, Inc., a leading designer and marketer of toys and consumer products, with a wide range of products that feature some of the most popular brands and children's toy licenses in the world, currently seeks an experienced, energetic, self-starter for the role of Director, Anime Marketing for our headquarters in Santa Monica, CA. The Director is responsible for leading product development, integrated marketing strategy, advertising/promotional recommendations, and profitability for both internal IP and external licensed brands. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role for someone looking to drive decision making.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement the global product strategy for a variety of Anime targeted brands in various categories.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the Marketing strategy - including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure all product development time lines are adhered to, all details are properly executed, and that all parties are informed of relevant information where required
  • Work closely with the company’s Sales team, enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations
  • Own the P&L including management of pricing, costing, profitability analysis, and SKU management
  • Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends, looking for new opportunities to grow the business
  • Guide cross-functional teams throughout the product development process to ensure brand vision is achieved

Skills & Experience required:

  • 6+ years experience in product development and marketing within a consumer products organization
  • BA in marketing or related field required
  • Affinity for Anime, pop culture and a desire to bring properties to life for fans of all ages
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with experience presenting to all levels of management both within the organization and to external partners
  • Resourceful: able to self-start and get things accomplished with minimal oversight
  • Work effectively within a team environment 
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Have a positive, “can do” attitude
  • Proven track record of success in senior marketing roles
  • Ideally, have experience in the toy industry or working in an industry that markets kids and distributes to mass merchandisers globally.
