NATURE AND SCOPE
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Creative Services, the Design Lead is responsible for providing creative direction and executing the development of marketing materials across digital, video, motion and traditional channels. This role serves as a strategic creative partner and right hand to Creative Services leadership, helping shape and elevate the organization's visual communications, brand presence and marketing campaigns.
The Design Lead plays a critical role in translating business and marketing objectives into compelling creative solutions that support brand consistency, audience engagement and business growth. Working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, this position partners closely with cross-functional marketing, digital, product and agency teams to conceptualize and deliver integrated campaigns and creative assets across all channels.
In addition to strong visual design capabilities, this role requires strategic creative thinking, the ability to lead and influence campaign development, and a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end creative process-from concept through production. The ideal candidate brings expertise in brand identity systems, digital design, video and animation, and creative storytelling, ensuring high-quality, on-brand deliverables that drive results.
REQUIREMENTS
1. A bachelor's degree in Creative/Digital Design, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of design experience. Agency experience preferred but not required. Familiarity with the financial services industry is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
2. Strong creative vision with the ability to align creative solutions to business objectives and marketing strategies.
3. Proven experience developing creative concepts and executing integrated campaigns across multiple channels while maintaining brand standards.
4. Exceptional knowledge of design principles, layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling.
5. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and familiarity with motion graphics, animation, and video editing tools such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar platforms.
6. Experience creating and directing video, animation, and motion graphics content for digital marketing, social media, paid media, and brand campaigns.
7. Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, customer experience, and creative best practices across web, email, social, video, and print.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with demonstrated success influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
9. Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, balance competing deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, collaborative environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
10. Proven ability to innovate, think strategically, challenge conventional approaches, and bring new ideas to the table.
11. Strong decision-making capabilities and sound creative judgment.
12. Experience working with marketing technology platforms and content management systems; experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and HTML coding preferred.
13. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Serve as a strategic creative partner to the Senior Manager, Creative Services, helping establish, evolve, and preserve Landmark's brand principles, visual identity, and creative standards.
2. Lead the creative development and art direction of integrated marketing campaigns across owned, earned, and paid channels.
3. Conceptualize and execute compelling creative solutions that support business objectives, drive engagement, and strengthen brand awareness.
4. Partner directly with internal teams and external agencies to develop and execute campaign assets, including digital advertising, paid social, video, animation, email, website, and print materials.
5. Provide creative leadership, guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to creative and digital team members throughout the creative development process.
6. Review creative work prior to leadership presentations to ensure consistency, quality, strategic alignment, and adherence to brand standards.
7. Establish and maintain creative direction and user experience standards for the company website and digital properties.
8. Lead the development and evolution of email, direct mail, and digital templates utilizing industry best practices and innovative design approaches.
9. Identify opportunities to elevate the brand through video, motion graphics, animation, and emerging creative formats.
10. Collaborate closely with marketing, product, digital, compliance, and leadership teams to develop creative strategies and solutions that support organizational goals.
11. Manage the coordination of printed materials, including vendor communications, estimates, file preparation, and production management.
12. Ability to learn and navigate rules, processes, and requirements related to compliance review and approval of marketing materials.
13. Stay informed on industry trends, design innovation, emerging technologies, and creative best practices to continuously elevate the quality and effectiveness of creative work.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
