Position Summary:

Reports to the Vice President, Employee Experience. Works as a core member of the communications team (visual, written, web, media, and staff training). The team creates and distributes visual, written, and digital content to MTC employees, industry stakeholders, elected officials, community leaders, media, and job applicants. Leads development of a reusable motion-graphics system and MOGRT library for company videos (success stories, training, how-to, role-play), produces bespoke animations as needed, and occasionally shoots on-location video (interviews and b-roll) to support projects. This is an in-office position at our Headquarters in Centerville, UT with consistent travel required.

Essential Functions:

  • Create compelling video content to tell MTC's story, enhance employee training, and engage job applicants.
  • Own the MTC Motion Kit: opens/closes, transitions, lower thirds, title cards, checklists, step counters, stat pops, map/location stings, quote cards, OTS/UI callouts, end slates.
  • Build and maintain 15-25 current MOGRT templates so editors can work inside Adobe Premiere Pro without opening Adobe After Effects.
  • Animate lightweight explainers (icon/2.5D) and training diagrams; storyboard quickly from script beats.
  • Manage a shareable asset library (icons, maps, UI frames, SFX stingers); keep versions clean.
  • Work with the producer and shooter/editor from first idea to final cut and help teammates use the motion kit effectively.
  • Operate company-owned video equipment and editing software to produce high-quality video content for internal and external communications.
  • Research emerging technologies in motion graphics, animation, and digital media, including artificial intelligence, to continuously make MTC's storytelling more compelling.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of MTC's operations and industry landscape to produce relevant, impactful content.
  • Contribute to our company Culture of Caring by maintaining positive and respectful relationships with employees, customers, vendors, program recipients and our community.
  • It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in motion design, animation, film/visual communications, or related field (communications, public relations, or broadcasting considered). 4-7 years of directly relevant experience and a strong, template-driven reel may be used in lieu of a degree. 
  • 3-5 years of professional motion graphics experience (After Effects/MOGRTs).
  • Must be willing and able to travel. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. 
  • Unless waived by management, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required.
