Job Description:

As a key member of the North America Finance Leadership team, serve as a trusted strategic partner to the Neuroscience franchise leadership, providing strong Finance leadership to support a critical business scaling phase, full market activation, and disciplined investment choices.

This role leads Finance activities for Neuroscience and partners closely with the Franchise Head to ensure resources, capabilities, and execution plans are fully aligned behind strategic and operational priorities, with robust financial discipline to enable sustainable sales and profitability growth.

WHAT - Main Responsibilities

Neuroscience Leadership Team

  • Act as a business partner for the Neuroscience Head and Franchise Leadership team members;
  • Support the franchise through a critical business scaling phase, ensuring Finance actively enables full market activation, launch readiness, and disciplined investment choices to capture the expected growth opportunity;
  • Provide Commercial Finance support to deepen understanding of market dynamics, patient journey, and key growth levers, translating commercial opportunities and assumptions into robust financial scenarios and plans;
  • Lead Strategic Performance Review preparation;
  • Work in close collaboration with forecasting team and ensure consistency with Finance & Supply cycles (ROF / F1 / F2 / Budget / 5YP / LRP);
  • Whenever relevant, prepare scenarios and ensure business cases are properly translated into Financials: access, competitive landscape, commercial and distribution strategies;
  • Provide strong Finance leadership to support decision-making, resource allocation, and execution discipline required to scale the franchise and achieve its sales and profitability ambitions;
  • Recommend and challenge actions to maximize business capabilities on a short/long term basis

FP&A

  • Be the finance point of contact for the Neuroscience Team
  • Lead performance monitoring (Sales, Headcount, P&L, Profitability Analysis)
  • Coordinate the financial planning processes (5YP, LRP, Budgeting and Forecasting) for the Neuro Franchise
  • Support the Franchise Head by providing analysis for proper financial / economic assessment of Operational decisions, cost control recommendations, and new business assessments.
  • Lead all closing activities for the perimeter, in close collaboration with accounting, GtN and FP&A teams and ensure that group deadlines are respected, and reporting is delivered on time.

Pricing Strategy, Tactics & Decision Support

  • Serve as Finance lead for pricing strategy, tactics, and decision support, ensuring robust financial analysis informs value, access, contracting, and lifecycle management choices;
  • Support Pricing & Contracting Committees preparation and ensure financial accuracy, strategic consistency, and clear decision rationale for presented business cases;
  • Build and challenge scenarios to assess pricing, access, reimbursement, competitive, and regulatory implications across short- and long-term horizons;
  • Partner with Value & Access, Government Pricing, Legal, Compliance, Commercial, and Global teams to support sound pricing decisions in an evolving pricing and regulatory environment.

Profitability and Efficiencies

  • Partner closely with Procurement as the Finance point of contact for the Neuroscience Leadership Team, helping the business understand evolving needs, benchmark key investment areas required to scale the franchise (such as media buy) and leverage North America and Global Procurement capabilities to support transformation projects, efficiency initiatives, and cost optimization.

HOW - Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge & Experience (essential):

  • A minimum of 12+ years of experience in senior Finance leadership roles, including commercial finance experience supporting high-growth or scaling businesses
  • Demonstrated experience developing robust forecasts, financial analyses, and business cases across sales, expenses, capital, and strategic investment priorities
  • Proven track record as a strategic business partner, translating franchise strategy into financial plans, resource allocation choices, and disciplined execution
  • Thorough understanding of financial statements and their interface between external reporting, management reporting and budgeting/forecasting
  • Leadership experience managing direct teams and influencing dotted-line, CoE, and cross-functional partners in a matrix environment
  • Solid knowledge of Statutory accounting and tax implications
  • Prior Big 4/financial accounting experience desired, not required.
  • Prior leadership experience in a corporate FP&A function
  • Solid understanding of IFRS/GAAP
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or specialty care commercial environment, with solid understanding of key commercial drivers, market access, pricing, launch readiness, and lifecycle management
  • Expert level Excel and knowledge of at least one ERP Finance (SAP & TM1 are a plus)

Education / Certifications:

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; MBA or equivalent graduate degree strongly preferred
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred

Language(s)

  • Fluent in English.
  • French would be a plus (not required)

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $217,500 to $310,000

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting.
