Labcorp is seeking a Research Study Technician to join our team in Madison, WI!

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30 am-3:15 pm CST some weekends required.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Research Study Technician, you’ll apply your scientific curiosity in researching the effectiveness, safety and toxicity of drugs in early development animal research studies.

  • Handling and restraining animals.

  • May provide husbandry duties to small and large animals.

  • Perform various dosing techniques with small and large animals.

  • Administering test items.

  • Collecting biological samples.

  • Performing clinical observations.

  • Collecting and reviewing data in accordance with the Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP) and standard operating procedures.

  • Organizing study related activities and data.

  • Maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare in accordance with the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline (Biology, Wildlife, Pre-veterinary, Zoology, Animal Science, or related Life Science disciplines) OR Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology plus 6 months or more of experience in clinical support, laboratory animal care, or assisting veterinary or research staff in a regulated laboratory or research environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 months or more of direct animal care experience in a research lab or farming operation (large or small animals).

  • AALAS Certification

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

  • Commitment to animal welfare, safety, and ethical care standards.

  • Reliable adherence to protocols, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail.

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

  • Exceptional customer service.

  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt, including new equipment, procedures, or compliance requirements.

Pay Rate: $23/hr. After initial training period (based on performance) $.50 increase.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. For more detailed information, please click here.
