They work with livestock, endangered species, or laboratory animals to enhance breeding success through techniques like in-vitro fertilization (IVF), embryo transfer, and cryopreservation. Their role is crucial in animal conservation, agriculture, and biomedical research. They often collaborate with veterinarians, researchers, and breeders to optimize reproductive strategies.

What are the most common day-to-day responsibilities for an Animal Embryologist?

Animal Embryologists typically spend their days handling and culturing embryos, performing in vitro fertilization procedures, and closely monitoring embryo development under specialized laboratory conditions. They might also be tasked with preparing laboratory equipment, maintaining meticulous records, and collaborating with veterinarians, animal caretakers, and other research staff.
