The FBN has a vacancy as Group Leader Large Animal Reproductive Biology (m/f/d)

What to expect:

  • Scientific leadership of the “Cell Physiology and Reproduction” research group
  • Planning and conducting scientific animal experiments and cell biology studies on reproductive biology and early embryonic development
  • Application and further development of reproductive biotechnology methods in large animals, particularly cattle and pigs, including ET, OPU, and IVF/IVP
  • Development of research approaches to analyze individual differences in reproductive performance among animals
  • Integration of molecular biological and functional analyses into reproductive biology research
  • Acquisition of competitive third‑party funding and publication of research results in internationally recognized journals
  • Supervision of doctoral candidates and students, as well as participation in teaching at the University of Rostock

What to bring:

  • Ph.D. in veterinary medicine or biology
  • Experience of conducting experiments on large animals (e.g. cattle and pigs).
  • Demonstrated expertise in the fields of reproductive biology, embryology, and reproductive biotechnology
  • Leadership skills and experience of managing scientific teams.
  • Authorization to conduct animal experiments (see FELASA B/C)
  • Excellent publication record and experience in securing research grants
  • Very good English language skills
