About the Role:
Join the Warwick Valley Humane Society as an Animal Control & Care specialist, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare of animals in our community. This exciting position offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with animals while promoting responsible pet ownership and safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to calls regarding stray, lost, or injured animals in the Warwick/Chester area.
  • Conduct field investigations and enforce animal welfare laws and local dog ordinances
  • Provide care, feeding, and medical attention to animals in the shelter.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal intake, adoptions, and incident reports.
  • Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and animal care. 
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for all animals in the facility.
Requirements:
  • Age 21 years or older with high school diploma or equivalent; additional education in animal care is a plus.
  • Experience in animal care, control, or welfare is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must live within 20 minutes of the Warwick Animal Shelter at 48 Public Works Road, Warwick, NY
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
  • Knowledge of local animal laws and regulations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Team-oriented with a passion for animal welfare and community service.
