Job description

We are currently hiring full-time, seasonal Cooks at the Angry Orchard Cider House in Walden, New York. 
Create world-class food to complement our world-class beers and spirits. Keep food orders flowing in an efficient, sanitary, timely, and orderly manner and with consistent appearance, quality, and taste. Helps to control food costs and control waste through the proper labeling, storing and rotating of all food. 

 
What You'll Brew: 
  • Follows recipes to timely fill food orders of consistent taste, quality, and presentation 
  • Prepares and sets up food for all stations according to par sheet specifications; provides feedback to kitchen management about the effectiveness of existing pars 
  • Supports kitchen management's attempts to control food costs by proper rotating, storing, labeling, and preparing of all food 
  • Maintains awareness of kitchen equipment, food levels, etc. and advises kitchen management of any potential for concern or outage 
  • Fosters positive working relationships and good communication both within the kitchen team as well as amongst other restaurant teams 
  • Enforces and adheres to all safety regulations as required by the position and the company's safety program 
  • Enforces and adheres to all sanitation initiatives as required by the position and the company's sanitation program; ensures that all checklists are completed within prescribed timeframes 

 
What Ingredients You'll Bring: 

 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 1 year of culinary/kitchen experience (high-volume establishment preferred) 
  • Working knowledge of executing recipes 
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly 
  • Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfaces 
  • Interface with computer systems with precision 
  • Ability to handle kitchen and service equipment 

 
Level:10 

 
In accordance with pay transparency laws the pay rate for this role if hired is $18.50 per hour. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
