Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Anesthesia Technician, you will provide critical support in the safe and efficient administration of anesthesia, assisting providers with equipment and supplies for diverse surgical and non-surgical cases.

Every day, you will prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications before, during, and after cases. This includes performing complex procedures under direction (e.g., setting up and assisting with line placement, intubation, extubation), managing supply inventory, room turnover, and patient positioning/transport.

To be successful in this vital role, you will demonstrate a thorough understanding of anesthesia equipment and sterile techniques, possess meticulous attention to detail, and exhibit excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Our Anesthesia Tech's provide safe, efficient, cost-effective anesthesia care and provides support for routine and complex medical procedures by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before and during anesthesia.

This position assists the anesthesiologist/anesthetist by operating and maintaining complex equipment needed in major surgical procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Equipment & Infection Control: Prepares, calibrates, and verifies the functionality of anesthesia equipment, applying consistent infection control principles and Standard Precautions before, during, and after procedures.
  • Supply & Data Management: Stocks anesthesia supplies across all operating locations (including specialized carts and airway bags) and performs point-of-contact clinical laboratory services while maintaining records per regulatory standards. 
  • Responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining all anesthesia-related equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Stocks and manages anesthesia supplies across all anesthetizing locations to ensure efficient, cost-effective care.
  • Applies specialized knowledge of anesthesia equipment to ensure proper operation, decontamination, and patient safety within the scope of licensure.
Job Requirements

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Technology program or
  • Two years of related work experience as an Anesthesia Technician or other health care provider (e.g. LPN, EMT, etc.) that would demonstrate possession of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.
  • Current healthcare provider American Heart Association BLS-CPR certification required.
  • If classified as Anesthesia Tech-Cert, certification as an Anesthesia Technician through the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) is required.

Preferred:

  • Graduates from an Anesthesia Technology program
  • Recent Anesthesia Technology experience
  • Current certification as an Anesthesia Technician through the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) is preferred.
