Job description

Friendship Hospital for Animals, a leading AAHA- accredited hospital located in Washington D.C. is seeking an experienced and capable veterinary assistant to join our Anesthesia team. If you're dedicated to excellent patient care and enjoy being part of a collaborative, diverse team - we'd love to meet you!
About the role:
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment working closely with the specialty anesthesia and surgery teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, fear free restraint of canines and felines for IV catheter placement, assisting with induction, shaving and prepping for a variety of surgeries, setting up ORs, cleaning, restocking, etc. If you thrive in a diverse setting with the capacity for continued skill development, then look no further. Schedule: Full time position; Four 10 hours shifts per week.

  • Previous experience in veterinary medicine preferred.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to multi-task and works well under pressure.
  • Great communication skills.
