This job is ON - SITE.

FTE: 0.400000

Standard Hours: 16.00

Shift: 1st

Shift Details: 10-hour shifts on Mondays and Wednesdays, Holidays on an on-call basis, Weekends on an on-call basis


Job Summary:

The Anesthesia Technician assists with direct patient care activities, supporting the Anesthesia Providers during delivery of anesthesia. Working in the operating/procedural room providing support to the anesthesiologist during patient intubation. Also accountable for performing blood analysis, ensures anesthesia equipment is set-up and functioning properly. Assists with basic patient care procedures per the direction of the anesthesiologist/CRNA/CAA.


EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 2 year direct patient related care experience is required or completion of 2 years as an Anesthesia aide along with 1 year of Anesthesia tech progression training. Or is functioning as anesthesia tech at another institution, graduated from an anesthesia tech program, holds certification as anesthesia tech.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree from an accredited allied health field is preferred.

LICENSURE:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Ability to demonstrate initiative and use complex thought processes in decision making. Ability to effectively utilize verbal and written communication. Flexibility to adapt to urgent situations and change. Ability to cope with pressure. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with various personnel. Ability to organize, prioritize tasks.
