Anesi Ozmon, Ltd. is a well-established Chicago personal injury and workers' compensation law firm that has been advocating for injured individuals throughout Illinois since 1955. Located in the heart of the Loop, our attorneys have recovered billions of dollars for our clients through settlements and verdicts in complex, high-stakes litigation.


We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 3–7 years of civil litigation experience to join our growing litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to work on significant personal injury and third-party negligence cases from inception through trial while collaborating with seasoned trial attorneys who are committed to achieving exceptional results for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a litigation caseload from filing through resolution. 
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and appellate-quality legal memoranda. 
  • Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, physicians, and experts. 
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, status conferences, mediations, and arbitrations. 
  • Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys. 
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel. 
  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and trial strategy. 
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy. 
  • Conduct legal research and remain current on developments in Illinois personal injury law.

Requirements:

 Qualifications


Required

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. 
  • Active license to practice law in Illinois and good standing with the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission (ARDC). 
  • 3–7 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in personal injury or insurance defense. 
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Professional demeanor and outstanding client communication skills. 

Preferred

  • Experience handling personal injury, third-party negligence, or workers' compensation matters. 
  • Deposition experience. 
  • Courtroom experience, including motion practice and evidentiary hearings. 
  • Trial preparation experience. 
  • Experience negotiating settlements and participating in mediations. 
  • Familiarity with Filevine or similar case management software.
