About the Role
The Andrologist II plays a vital role in where science meets purpose-applying laboratory expertise that directly supports patient care and treatment outcomes. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, combining scientific expertise with patient-centered care to help drive successful treatment outcomes. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the Andrologist II ensures accurate testing and processing, helping deliver the highest standard of care for patients and providers alike.
We are seeking an Andrologist II to join our dedicated team at IVF Michigan in Bloomfield Hills, MI. This is a full-time, onsite role, and shift times may vary depending on lab needs, including occasional weekend and holiday rotations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations and administration of the andrology laboratory with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain and monitor quality control measures and clinical data to ensure optimal lab performance and pregnancy outcomes.
  • Develop and improve laboratory procedures.
  • Perform duties per lab policy, including semen analysis before/during treatment cycles, semen preparation for procedures, and sperm cryopreservation.
  • Handle media preparation, paperwork for IUI/chemistry reports, sperm prep for IUI, sperm survival tests, semen analysis with morphology, and Tosoh operation.
  • Conduct comprehensive semen analysis (count, motility, progression, morphology, viability as indicated).
  • Collect and submit data for compliance reviews, re-certifications, and organizational reporting.
  • Ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain cryopreservation records and sperm storage.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends, to support efficient lab operations.
  • Maintain quality control and assurance for CLIA compliance.
  • Review clinical data outcomes and discuss with care teams/physicians.
  • Ensure safe lab conditions, protecting employees from physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
  • Coordinate Testicular Sperm Aspirations with outside physicians.
  • Strictly follow SOPs and comply with all safety policies.
  • Perform additional projects and duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
    • Minimum of a "B" average in relevant laboratory science courses
  • Experience:
    • 2-5 years of laboratory experience in an andrology/endocrinology lab required
    • Supervisory skills and/or leadership experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency with compound microscopes and aseptic techniques, and ability to handle hazardous specimens.
    • Completion of on-the-job training and any required certification exams.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain patient confidentiality.
