About the Role:

The Senior Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of large-scale and complex multifamily, hospitality, mixed-use, industrial, and retail architectural projects. This role demands strong leadership, client-facing skills, and deep knowledge of project management processes to ensure projects meet design, budget, schedule, and quality goals. You will be responsible for mentoring project teams and collaborating closely with consultants and clients to achieve outstanding project outcomes aligned with firm strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple architectural projects from inception through construction, ensuring alignment with client goals, regulatory requirements, budget, and schedule.
  • Provide senior leadership and mentorship to project managers, project architects, job captains, and design staff.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams (structural, MEP, landscape, civil, etc.) and third parties to integrate diverse design and technical discipline inputs.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, facilitating communication, managing expectations, and presenting solutions to complex project challenges.
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and design intent.
  • Manage project budget forecasting, resource allocation, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead construction administration phases, collaborating with contractors and resolving field issues proactively.
  • Engage in business development activities including proposal preparation, fee negotiation, and promoting firm reputation.
  • Promote a positive team culture emphasizing collaboration, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed architect with 12-15+ years of professional experience predominantly in multifamily, hospitality, mixed-use, industrial, and retail project types.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects from design phase through construction administration.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop project teams.
  • Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Expertise in project budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with current building codes, construction methods, materials, and sustainable design practices.
  • Proficient with project management software, BIM tools (Revit preferred), and collaboration platforms.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Houston or Texas regional market.
  • LEED accreditation or other sustainability credentials.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary and cross-sector teams.
