What we need:
This position plans, organizes, supervises, monitors and improves the day-to-day, and short-term activities of the Logistics and Capacity team. Uses specialized knowledge of systems practices to provide guidance and advice to internal customers and ensures department and related company activities are complying.
What you'll do:
  • Manage, organize and direct all employees assigned to them
  • Manage daily dispatch schedules for NGA domiciled trucks/drivers
  • Analyze KPI's to ensure utilization goals are achieved or exceeded.
  • Act as point of contact for specialized requests regarding non-standard shipments including multi-stop, driver assistance, full truckloads and expedites.
  • Communication: Provide logistics solutions to various departments including (but not limited to) Customer Service, Pricing, and Transportation.
  • Identify utilization leakage and support a solution to prevent loss opportunities
  • Provide feedback to management on daily dispatch schedules and fleet moral
  • Analyze Private Fleet service issues and determine root causes for service failures
  • Understanding of DOT HOS and schedule requirements for on-time delivery.
  • Communicate capacity conditions for all regions across the country.
  • Enhance customer experience with scheduled communication on order status.
  • Analyze freight flow information and determine trends to make recommendations for improvements.
  • Manage service reports to include departure and arrival status.
  • May include other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with previous experience in the field is preferred or equivalent of education and experience (5+ years in logistics related field).
  • AS400 experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to achieve results through team efforts, willingness to challenge established practices and draw relevant conclusions; ability to persuade, ability to lead, counsel and coach a diverse work group.
  • Interaction with organization leadership and upper management.
  • Ability to perform in a high pressure or changing environment, and exercise good judgment to resolve problems in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve business issues through solution-oriented projects.
  • Ability to "think outside the box" and generate alternative solutions to satisfy the needs of our customers and the business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Extensive knowledge of McLeod Loadmaster
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to optimize team efficiency.
  • Extensive knowledge of AS400 systems.
  • Daily POC of contact for ~50 drivers as it relates to daily outbound dispatch schedules
  • Daily shuffling of drivers to ensure service expectations are met
  • Daily POC for ~40 regional drivers and supervisors
  • Plans daily outbound dispatch schedule based on drivers HOS
  • Responsible for daily communication with Capacity Planners in Command Center
  • Responsible for daily communication with inbound dispatch personnel to ensure service expectations are met for both inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Responsible for daily track & trace inside of Samsara
  • Responsible for managing casual board to ensure a high level of utilization for all NGA domiciled trucks/drivers
  • Enforcement for all Samsara safety metrics as they relate to NGA domicile drivers
  • Main POC for tracking service for NGA outbound shipments
  • Responsible for daily Pre-Assignments, Load tenders, and order execution inside of McLeod
  • Daily communication with NGA DC's as it relates to daily dispatch schedules

Associates Supervised:
  • Provide daily supervision of a team of no more than 8 employees
