The AI & Automation Analytics Associate is responsible for assisting with the development and delivery of data analytics, reporting, and automated processes to support the Financial Services Division, including emerging AI-enabled practices. The incumbent will assist with analytics and reporting activities using modern analytics platforms and tools, contribute to improving access to financial data and enhancing transparency across the agency, and support the development of automated and AI-driven solutions, including participation in initiatives such as the AI Champions program. This position will proactively work with the Analytics and Financial Insights Group, Financial Services Division staff, and agency employees.
This Fellowship Program position is a full-time, temporary, limited term assignment not to exceed three years from the date of hire. It is intended for applicants that have graduated with a bachelor's degree or a master's degree from an accredited college or university in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field awarded within the last 12 months.
This position requires onsite work at our Austin TX headquarters.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Analytics & Reporting Support
• Assists with developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, analytics outputs, and process automation using established analytics platforms and tools.
• Supports preparation, review, and organization of data used for reporting and analytics solutions.
• Helps validate report results, data accuracy, and output quality using defined processes and guidance from senior staff.
• Assists with recurring and ad hoc reporting needs that support Financial Services Division business users.
• Applies foundational knowledge of data concepts, metrics, and reporting practices to assigned work.
Automation & AI Enabled Solutions Support
• Assists in using AI-enabled and automation tools to support analytics, reporting, and process improvement activities under guidance from team members.
• Helps identify routine reporting or process tasks that may be improved through automation or standardized solutions.
• Assists with basic data transformations, query support, or other related activities as assigned.
• Supports testing, review, and refinement of automated outputs to help improve efficiency and usability for business users.
Team Support & Professional Development
• Supports team initiatives while developing foundational skills in analytics, automation, and professional communication through hands-on experience and mentoring.
• Assists Financial Business Intelligence Analysts with project-based work and assigned analytics or automation tasks.
• Participates in team learning opportunities, including training courses, webinars, regular check-ins, and guided project work.
• Supports documentation, organization, and communication related to analytics, reporting, and process automation projects.
• Participates in activities related to the Financial Services AI Champions group to support and promote AI usage across the division.
• Develops foundational skills in analytics, reporting, automation, and professional communication through mentorship and applied learning.
Fellowship Curriculum
• Participates in trainings and projects related to the TRS Fellowship Program including webinars, quarterly check-ins, classes or other learning activities, book group, projects, and the mentoring program.
• Meets TRS Fellowship Program deadlines and goals for completion of trainings in deliverables in a timely manner.
Performs related work as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field awarded within the last twelve months.
